Rankan is a long-loved coffee shop where the owner has won Japan’s No.1 title and placed third in the world at the Cup Tasters Championship.
Here, you can enjoy hand-roasted beans brewed with a traditional nel-drip method—coffee at its finest.

To be honest, I’m usually a tea person and rarely drink coffee.
But even I was truly impressed and thought, “This is delicious!”

Ran Kan Coffee: Mild “Ume-Oji Blend” in Dazaifu

Since Rankan is famous for their coffee, I knew I had to try one.
The name “Ume-Oji Blend” caught my eye—it feels very “Dazaifu,” right?

This blend is lightly roasted with a Brazilian base, mild bitterness, and a smooth finish.
715 yen per cup, and perfect even for beginners.

A gentle aroma rises from the cup…
One sip, and I was shocked by how mellow and silky it tasted—almost like a rich black tea.

Even as a tea lover I thought,“I could actually order another cup of this…”

My husband ordered the cappuccino.
The gentle aroma of cinnamon arrived at the table even before the cup did—irresistible!
