For travelers using the Nishitetsu railway, Futsukaichi Station is the key transfer point!
Whether you are coming from Hakata Station or from Fukuoka Airport, if you take the train to Dazaifu, you’ll need to transfer here to the Dazaifu Line.
Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Station is not only the starting point of the Dazaifu Line, but also an important transfer station on the Tenjin-Ōmuta Line.
The station has platforms numbered 1 through 7, all connected by elevated walkways.
It’s not as large or complex as Hakata Station, so if you follow the transfer signs, you can change trains smoothly without worry.
Still, it’s always better to travel with peace of mind!
Let’s walk through the transfer step by step with photos so you won’t get lost.

You can ride it for the same fare as a regular train.
